ITHACA 1906 EDUCATION FOUNDATION

The Ithaca 1906 Education Foundation is a tax-exempt 501c3 organization that was created to fund educational programs, and to provide scholarships to male high school graduates who reside in Montgomery or Chester Counties in Pennsylvania and graduate from schools in the same counties.

We believe that there exists a high correlation between higher education and increased earnings potential.  One barrier to higher education is the economic situation of a student’s family.  While Montgomery and Chester Counties are wealthy based on per capita income, studies show that there are areas within these counties where a disproportionate number of families are economically disadvantaged.

We believe that scholarships to institutions of higher learning can lead to increased enrollment of students, who might not otherwise be able to attend colleges or universities.  This increased amount of college graduates from our area will lead to a higher probability of financial success for these students’ future families.
